| Kala Nera is a very charming village, and one which
has a lovely beach, making it perfect for your summer holidays in
Pelion. The beach has actually been awarded the "Blue Flag"
by the European Union in recognition of it's exceptionally clean
waters.
All around Kala Nera, you will find a great selection of cafes
and bars where you can take a seat right next to sea and enjoy
a relaxing drink whilst admiring the views out towards the Pagasitic

| Kala Nera is situated just 18km from
the city of Volos, and is very easy to reach. It is also a perfect
place from which one can explore some of the other popular regions
of Pelion, both along the coasts of the Pagasitic Gulf, as well
as the Aegean Sea on the eastern side of the Pelion peninsula. During the summer months, the beaches in and around Kala Nera are very popular. Just outside of the village is the famous beach of "Boufa", which is actually the largest beach along the coast of the Pagasitic Gulf. The neighbouring village of Milies is also close by, and from here, you can take a trip on the famous steam train of Pelion - the "Moutzouris-Smudgy". This unique train will take on a journey passing through several Pelion villages, and around the mountains and over bridges, providing with the perfect opportunity to sample the immense natural beauty of the Pelion mountains. |
